Poor Neglected Blog

My poor blog hasnt been updated in over 2 years.
I spend so much time reading other blogs & watching vloggers on YouTube that I dont make time for my own. I think its time to change that.
This blog might be all over the place until I get back into the swing of things.
So if you're reading this, thank you. If you have any blog post suggestions, please let me know. I am open to all sorts of topics so I can get back into the groove!

Days of Our Lives

I have a love/hate relationship with this show! For those of you that dont know what Days of Our Lives (DOOL) is, its a daytime drama that has been on the air since November 8th 1965. Holy Crap! Next year this time will be 50yrs on air! Thats amazing!
Anyway, kinda got off topic.
I was about to tell you about my love/hate relationship with DOOL.

I have been watching DOOL off & on for over 25 years. I watched my 1st episode when I was 12. I dont remember why I watched it but I remember getting hooked & rushing home after school to watch it. I did find out several years later that my mother watched DOOL while pregnant with me so I like to blame her and say I didnt have a choice but to get addicted to it. :)  You know, since it was apparently fed to me via the womb.

Like all daytime dramas, the story lines flex from good to bad to WTF were the writers thinking. And yet I tune in. Ive tried to watch other "soaps" but never stuck to them like I have DOOL.

So over a month or so ago I heard that my favorite character Sami (played by Alison Sweeney) was leaving the show. I really didnt want this to be true. Other characters have come amd gone but Sami has been my constant. We have "grown up" together. We were even preggo together (on the show & in real life). When I found out she was leaving I was about 25 episodes behind (dontcha just love DVRs!). I try to stay away from spoilers & whatnot cuz I am so far behind. As of right now, I am 7 episodes from her final episode. I spent the last few days eating up 10 or so episodes. The episodes of EJs (Sami's Husband) death just about killed me the other night. I was blubbering like a baby for 2 whole episodes. It was terribly sad to watch Sami lose the love of her life. My heart went out to her and Alison did an amazing job. Award winning!

So as I approach her farewell episode I know that more tears will be shed. I know that DOOL is losing an amazing actress. And that an amazing (8yr long) story line is coming to an end.

I hope that my love/hate relationship with Days of Our Lives will survive this.
